I've been busy with a little side project (please don't be too critical; these are Genuine Basement Tapes!) and anyway, there just hasn't been much free music popping out on the net that's really caught my attention.
Until the SXSW mp3s came out, that is.
Two years back, there were a bunch of awesome tracks. Last year was pretty mediocre. This year, there's a lot of promise, and I'm really just getting started at this point.
An easy pick is Ms. Marcia Ball. Fantastic New Orleans blues pianist.

New to blogs and rss? There are several cool ways to consume these glorious words, pictures and music :-) These programs can periodically check to see if there's something new on the blog, so you don't have to click on the bookmark every day:
In a browser. I use the Sage extension to Mozilla Firefox
From an email+news+rss reading program such as Mozilla Thunderbird, which can sort by title/subject/etc, (which is very useful for some feeds)
From a dedicated rss-reading program such as SharpReader on Windows
In a musicplayer/browser "mashup" program such as Mozilla Songbird (my current favorite -- a glimpse into the future)
From a mobile device rss reader such as pRssReader on Windows Mobile. (There are several available for blackberry devices also, but I don't have one, so I can't really offer a recommendation.)
